| Is anybody a fan of the Fatal Frame games? My favorite ones are Crimson Butterfly and Mask of the Lunar Eclipse-though it's a shame Nintendo, not Tecmo or Grasshopper, decided not to release it in the USA. Regardless, Crimson Butterfly is what I consider to be the scariest game of all time. | |

| Never played them due to lack of PS2/XBOX, but I'd like to play the 4th one. Don't know if I'm allowed to link stuff, but you might be interested. It is missing some info, but maybe they update it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]This is the site where you can get the patch, although you still need a retail version. Maybe it's an idea to buy from ebay, rip to pc, patch it to NTSC-U/PAL, and use a USBloader? (This is officially legal btw.) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| It's okay to link the stuff, it's not illegal since it promotes the buying of the game by Tecmo and Nintendo. | |

| I'm a HUGE Fatal Frame fan. I still remember how I first came across it when I was smaller..
Me and my family just came home from Blockbuster and my brother decided to get a scary game to have a summer night game night to freak everyone out. He couldn't wait for everyone else to finish eating dinner, so he started playing it by himself...
In Fatal Frame 1, when Mafuyu finds Mr. Takamine's notebook and the Bound Man pops up on the screen, my brother screamed and ran out of the room into the kitchen xD It was really funny.
A couple years after that, I started playing the game, then beat it. Then got part 2 and 3 for Christmas. I'm a die-hard fan now : ) |

| You should really play the IV one. Just get the patch and import a copy of the game on eBay, if you have Wii. | |

| Ordered my Japanese copy on eBay a few minutes ago. Can't wait to play it. If it is really that scary, me and some of my friends are going to have a game night again to. We used to do it with SH1 until we all got to scared to play, hahaha. | |

| It's not as scary as the first one or the second one, per say, but it combines a few western elements and it is very fun to play. Once you reach Ruka's house, though, the game is completely non-scary at all. Literally. No scares after that, and then there's about one hour left of gameplay to finish the game. | |

| Ok I got my copy today. (I don't know how but it was fast O.O) But due to ripping and patching and loading, I only had a few minutes to play, but it looks really nice, and 'capturing' the ghosts is fun. I'm already noticing the disadvantage of not being able to read Japanese, because I can't read the sign's. Good thing is the original voices are still there and there are good English (fan)subtitles. Few mistakes like 'lpad' instead of 'load' but thats it. So if you want to play it I guess my previous stated way, is a great way to play. EDIT: It was shipped from Köln in Germany.. One hour drive so I guess that's why it was so fast. | |

| Dang! It took me 4 weeks to import the copy. Maybe your buyer was really fast-he deserves a good rating Capturing the ghosts is fun, it's even better than the past games since the Wii Mote kind of 'swings' up and down to do it, very smooth-like. -MINOR BACKGROUND SPOILERS- - Spoiler:
The storyline is also one of the best in the series and the concept of 'Blooming' is great. There are also memos which discuss a second ritual in the game, the 'Face-Cutting' ritual used to prevent the dead from blooming in case the Ceremony of Passage failed.
The developing team is still updating from time to time, I believe, so some errors could be fixed with new releases of the patch. Also, I'm very glad that there's another member here interested in Wii Modding and stuff. Though that post isn't illegal, I'd like it not to be discussed on this forum because it could give a few 'ideas' and even lead to illegal activity on this website, though it is small right now.

| I'm new to Fatal Frame, and something tells me I'm going to have a very, very hard time finding actual copies of the games in good condition at the local game store, if not new. Very pricey too.
I run a pre-patched ISO (I'M SORRY PLEASE FORGIVE ME I JUST MOVED I'M POOR! ;-; ) on USB Loader GX, and my god is this game good. Scary as hell, but good.

| They only released around 2,000-3,000 copies of each game in America and Canada, explaining the rarity and extreme price of the games. | |

| The patch will work on any Wii, and the game will work on any Wii with the patch regardless of your Wii's region. | |

| Hmm... I wonder how it works.
I heard you can't have anything else on the SD card if you use the patch. Is this true? D8

| German is PAL yeah, but I ordered the NTSC-J version, ripped it to iso, patched it to PAL then to English fan sub and burned it again, so yeah it takes a little longer but I can play it | |

| Holy crap, only 2k-3k copies? Every single GameStop in my area has a used copy of each game in the PS2 trilogy. Well, maybe not anymore, but there was a time not too long ago when every single one of them in a 50-mile radius had every Fatal Frame. $39.99 each.
Anyway, I own 1-3 and love them all to death. The first one had so few healing items that I'm stuck in the Final Night with one hit of HP, no healing items, and a ton of film. I'm going to have to start over. Sigh.
Crimson Butterfly is my favorite (maybe because it's the only one I've managed to beat thus far). The twin concept was very eerily done (especially the doll house, eesh), and the game was terribly sad.
So far, though, The Tormented scares me the most. I think it's the whole "creepy place in dreams invading your 'safe' reality" concept. Same reason why SH4 scared me so much.
