Cell Phone's Appearance

Have you noticed that all of the Cell Phones in the game take on the same appearance? As annoying as it seems, they could have had a lot more variety in the designs. I hope to see more improvements in the next game.

Yeah I agree that they are all similar, but I don't mind it at all personally because those are the exact type of cell phone I want. : ) But I guess what made each phone special was the wallpaper and front designs.

And the ringtones were enjoyable, especially Makoto's Jazz-Type tune.

The backgrounds also fit the moment you are in if you ask me.

Hmm now that you mention it..
It would be challenging to find the meaning behind every single background..

I think it's because most of cell phone use in japan nowaday are flip-top style. So it wasn't weird if all characters in this game have a flip-top phone ;-)

ps: Besides, I think it's a game design by psychological reason. Flip-top can make a 'step' when you press - to let your character pick up their phone. First they grab it, then open it, then you can see an interface of the phone. if it's a slide phone or normal phone; player can see what's in the background of a phone screen (which sometime can scare player) and it's doesn't make a feeling

^ Well that only is about the perspective of how the phone-menu works. Dialing a number with the same perspective on a normal bar phone or a slide-phone will obscure the background as well.

I agree, I usually flip the phone just to see the background so. ^^
I'm hoping that in the sequel they use scarier backgrounds tho, these are nice but not really scary.

I could imagine a background showing a dead body facing away from the screen. Then it turns out to be an animated .gif image and turns around.

Hmm or, a picture, of some 'thing' that you will eventually need to come across with.

It's correct English, don't worry. And that sounds super creepy, it could fit into the ideas thread of the Calling Sequel section.

That reminds me of the chair .gif someone sent to me a while ago. I think there are videos of it on YouTube.

Not really scary, as there was no audio (I think? There are problems with my laptop's speakers). I've seen that before.

Ah, I think I won't check that link out. I got the game but I think that's as much horror as I can take...hahah.

There was a bunny or something on one of the phone backgrounds, right? That's the only one I remember. It was something cute.

I liked the schoolgirl ghost's phone at the beginning the best. I like its ringtone, too, but with the situation it kind of became a little ominous.

One of the phones Makoto used had a wierd background...it was something that reminded me of all those doll parts in the one-story house, like doll arms or legs or something. It was doll arms or legs on a red background, I think.

I'm curious--has anyone ever been attacked by a ghost/ghosts while using their cell phone, other than the time in the school when Rin's trying to transport? Like has a ghost ever attacked randomly while you were dialing a number or looking at something on the phone, when you knew there were no ghosts chasing you?

No, that hasn't happened to me.

Well, it never happened to me, but I think (correct me when wrong) that when you try to dial in the hospital when Reiko attacks you, she just continues, because the game won't stop (read pause) when you get out your cell phone.
