question: why did Reiko Asagiri end up in the hospital in the first place?

Reiko Asagiri is the main antagonist of the game. She was a victim of a disease that made her land in the hospital, she fell into depression after feeling that nobody loved her and left her behind. Much to the dismay of Kyoko the Nurse, she eventually committed suicide by jumping out the window of room 301 in Kuromiya Hospital.

Reiko was sick, a lot of people have speculated cancer (most likely it was a terminal disease), that, of course, left her neglected to some extent from the outside world. We can't determine the disease but we know that it landed her long hospital stays and treatments (chemo therapy?) and helped her land into depression.
